Outhouse Race

Today was the Third Annual Outhouse Race in Perkinstown. What Wisconsin people will do on a cold winter day!? Well this year Chris pushed again for Northwoods Archers and they came in second with a time of 1:13. (That's one minute and thirteen seconds) First place came in with a time of 1:01. It may not look hard but some of the people after the race just fall on the ground and lay in the snow to try and catch their breath. Some of them even threw-up! This may have been because of a few beverages before they ran?
Here they are with their trophy. Nice huh! It is a little outhouse and a roll of toilet paper.
They also took 1st for the fastest team over 40!
After the race we all went inside a big tent that they had there and there was a new game that none of us had ever seen before. Here stood a girl holding a mouse in her hands and then people walked around and sold paddles for a buck.
After all of the paddles were sold she put the mouse under this cover and they spun the table around and then took off the cover.
Whichever space the mouse ran into won the prize.
Again, What we Wisconsin people will do on a cold day to keep busy.

Daytona Race Party

Sunday was the Daytona 500!! Chris calls this the Super Bowl of Nascar. Isn't it strange that the "Super Bowl" is at the end of the season in football but at the beginning of the year in racing? I think almost every year the Strebig's have a Daytona Party to kick off the season. It is always a good time. Way too much food and probably too much drinking also. Me and Megan polished off 2 bottles of wine. I didn't think that was too bad considering that I brought 4 bottles.

Here are some pictures from the party...

Someone has always got to get crazy. I told Amy to not do this anymore because her eyes were going to stay this way. Then Tara yelled out, "Hey I can do that too," so I had to take a picture.

At about lap 10 the guys all decided that they needed something else to do until the end of the race so they started a card game.

The girls got out the boxing gloves and decided to see how well they could do. The whole party got into cheering them on. Megan was the referee.

Jenna tried to challenge anyone who wanted to go the next round. Nobody did take her up on this. She is quite a tough girl when she gets into the hockey ring so I guess that is why noone wanted to take her up on the challenge for fear that they would get their butts beat.

Look at my Big A__ Gun!!

Way back aound 1989 or 1990, a long long time ago, Brian asked Chris to hold up this gun and he would take his picture. Chris tells it is a bolt action 12 gauge goose gun. We always used to say that this gun looks longer than he is tall. Maybe it is the angle that Brian was to Chris, but the proportion of the gun to Chris just looks a little odd.
